Welcome to Tiggo Transport.
In just a few years Tiggo Transport has
established a comfortable and growing
niche in the oilfield hauling industry.
It’s been nine years since David
Friesen and his wife, Eve, decided
to leave the security of her family’s
business and launch their own,
but already they have established
Tiggo Transport Ltd., as a familiar
name in the northern oilpatch.
With thirteen company-owned trucks
and another four lease operators, Tiggo has the equipment and
expertise to handle a wide range of
light and heavy oilfield hauling, and
the bright red Tiggo trucks are a
familiar sight on the backroads and
highways of Northern Alberta and
B.C.
“Business has been good,” he says.
“We’ve definitely been blessed, to say the least.”
But to those who know David and
Eve, it’s apparent that their success
isn’t just good fortune. Hard work
plays a very big part, as well as teamwork
and “we have a great team,”
says David. Originally from La Crete, they come from a long tradition of
hard work and entrepreneurship.
David worked in the High Level,
Rainbow Lake and Zama area for 11
years. Then nine years ago they
moved to Grande Prairie and David
worked for a year with Eve’s father
and brother in their very successful
business, Neudorf Trenching.
“But I decided to go out on my
own in a small way,” he recalls. “I’ve
always been involved in construction
and trucking, but my goal was always
getting into trucking. I hauled logs
for one winter, then got into lowbedding
and winching.”
Now the Tiggo operation is based
out of a four-acre yard and shop in
Grande Prairie. In addition to the
trucks, the equipment fleet includes 34 trailers.
